Fresh Start

They are good for the soul, these fresh starts.  Life becomes stagnant so quickly and before one knows it, they are walking in a straight line.  Like a tire stuck in a worn groove, we walk in rigid lines… the kind which offer little flexibility in terms of how far we can dream.

Something which is important to remember is that writing requires a limber gait.  As writers, we need the freedom to stray from our path often.  Some may tell you it is to stop and “smell the flowers”, and though this may be true for them, it is my opinion that we need to stray from our path in order to fail.  We need to feel the ground give way that we may challenge our beliefs.

Life is not supposed to make sense all of the time.  We cannot feel secure in ourselves, nor in the air we breathe, and most certainly not in our loved ones.

We must slip and fall… to bruise, bleed, heal and finally write about the experience.

So it is that The Frozen Man is reborn.  Gone is the old site and all of its pieces.  Gone are old ideas and pains that should have healed by now.

Along with a new look, we are introducing some new contributing writers.  Noel Peterson and Beth Lorne will each maintain Creative Blogs as well as work on various features.  We are very pleased to welcome back Roger Laferriere who will continue to write a variety of features for us.  Tristan will tackle world news and the likes.

The Frozen Man is growing.  A new Gallery has been added that we may be able to properly appreciate the arts.  Poem A Day (PAD) is starting today and will continue each and every day.  We encourage people to join in this wonderful exercise.  Also, you will notice the term “one world” displayed here and there throughout the site.  It is our belief that to write effectively, one should have a good grasp of the world around them.  It is because of this that we will display photos and news from around the world.

We are at our core a literary journal focusing on creative writing and the arts… though sometimes, we stray from our path.

Why 'One World'?
We at The Frozen Man believe that to succeed in the creative arts, be it writing or art, one should have a profound knowledge of the world around them. Understand human nature and you will be able to create words which are true. We are one world, one people, one essence.
